Direct-To-Mobile Technology : స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్ యూజర్లకు అదిరిపోయే న్యూస్.. రాబోయే రోజుల్లో ఇంటర్నెట్, మొబైల్ సిమ్ అవసరం లేకుండానే నేరుగా లైవ్ టీవీ ఛానల్స్ వీక్షించవచ్చు. డైరెక్ట్-టు-మొబైల్ (D2M) అనే సరికొత్త టెక్నాలజీ త్వరలో అందుబాటులోకి రానుంది. దీనిపై కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కసరత్తు చేస్తోంది. ఇంటర్నెట్ కనెక్షన్ లేకుండా స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్‌లలో లైవ్ టీవీ ఛానల్‌లను చూసేందుకు వినియోగదారులను అనుమతించనుంది. అయితే, ఈ టెక్నాలజీని డైరెక్ట్-టు-మొబైల్ (D2M) టెక్నాలజీ పేరుతో పిలుస్తారు. బ్రాడ్‌కాస్టింగ్ సమ్మిట్‌‌ను ఉద్దేశించి సమాచార, ప్రసార కార్యదర్శి అపూర్వ చంద్ర మాట్లాడుతూ.. డైరెక్ట్-టూ-మొబైల్(D2M) టెక్నాలజీ త్వరలోనే అందుబాటులోకి రానున్నట్టు వెల్లడించారు.
త్వరలో దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 19 నగరాల్లో ట్రయల్స్ : 
ప్రస్తుతం ఈ టెక్నాలజీపై ట్రయల్స్ నిర్వహించనున్నట్టు తెలిపారు. ఇది స్వదేశీ టెక్నాలజీగా పేర్కొన్న ఆయన.. త్వరలో 19 నగరాల్లో ట్రయల్స్ నిర్వహించనున్నట్టు చెప్పారు. ఇందుకోసం ప్రత్యేకించి 470-582 MHz స్పెక్ట్రమ్‌ను రిజర్వ్ చేసేందుకు కార్యాచరణ రూపొందించినట్టు ఆయన తెలిపారు. 25 శాతం నుంచి 30 శాతం వీడియో ట్రాఫిక్‌ని D2M మార్చడం ద్వారా ఎలాంటి అంతరాయం లేకుండా 5జీ స్పీడ్ నెట్‌వర్క్‌ని పొందొచ్చునని అపూర్వ చంద్ర పేర్కొన్నారు. గత ఏడాదిలో డైరెక్ట్-టు-మొబైల్ టెక్నాలజీని టెస్టింగ్ చేయడానికి పైలట్ ప్రాజెక్టులు బెంగళూరు, కర్తవ్య పథ్, నోయిడాలో జరిగాయని చెప్పారు.

రాబోయే ఈ సరికొత్త టెక్నాలజీ దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 8 నుంచి 9 కోట్ల టీవీలు లేని ఇళ్లకు చేరుకోవడమే లక్ష్యంగా ముందుకు సాగనుంది. అదేవిధంగా 280 మిలియన్ కుటుంబాల్లో కేవలం 190 మిలియన్ కుటుంబాల్లోనే టీవీలు ఉండగా.. 80 కోట్ల స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్లు ఉన్నాయని ఆయన చెప్పారు. అందులో 69 శాతం కంటెంట్ వీడియో ఫార్మాట్‌లోనే ఉందని అన్నారు. ప్రస్తుత రోజుల్లో మొబైల్ ఫోన్లలో వీడియోలను చూసేవారి సంఖ్య పెరిగిపోయిందని తద్వారా మొబైల్ నెట్‌వర్క్ చాలా స్లో అవుతోందని, ఫలితంగా వీడియో కంటెంట్ బఫర్ అవుతున్న పరిస్థితి ఉందని అపూర్వ చంద్ర తెలిపారు.

D2M అంటే ఏమిటి? :
యాక్టివ్ ఇంటర్నెట్ కనెక్షన్ అవసరం లేకుండానే వినియోగదారుల స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్‌లకు మల్టీమీడియా కంటెంట్‌ను ట్రాన్స్‌మిట్ చేయగల టెక్నాలజీగా చెప్పవచ్చు.. కమ్యూనికేషన్ల మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ D2M టెక్నాలజీ మల్టీఫేస్ ఫీచర్లను జాబితా చేసింది. మొబైల్-సెంట్రిక్, నిరంతరాయంగా కంటెంట్ డెలివరీ, హైబ్రిడ్ ప్రసారం, రియల్ టైమ్, ఆన్-డిమాండ్ కంటెంట్, ఇంటరాక్టివ్ సర్వీసులను అందించగలదు.
సాంప్రదాయకంగా.. ఈ టెక్నాలజీ అత్యవసర హెచ్చరికలను జారీ చేయడానికి, విపత్తు నిర్వహణలో సాయం చేయడానికి ఉపయోగించడం జరిగింది. అయితే, ఇప్పుడు డైరెక్ట్ టు మొబైల్ టెక్నాలజీ ఉపయోగించి.. నెట్‌వర్క్ బ్యాండ్‌విడ్త్‌కు ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా వినియోగదారుల మొబైల్ ఫోన్‌లో సమాచారాన్ని నేరుగా పంపుకోవచ్చునని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తెలిపింది. D2Mకి మారడం 5జీ నెట్‌వర్క్‌లను అన్‌లాగ్ చేస్తుందని అపూర్వ చంద్ర తన ప్రసంగంలో చెప్పారు.
ఈ D2M టెక్నాలజీ ఎలా పని చేస్తుంది? :
డైరెక్ట్ టు మొబైల్ టెక్నాలజీ.. ఎఫ్ఎమ్ (FM) రేడియో మాదిరిగానే పనిచేస్తుంది. ఇక్కడ రిసీవర్ ప్రసారం చేసిన సిగ్నల్‌ను పొందుతుంది. డైరెక్ట్-టు-హోమ్ (DTH) ప్రసారాన్ని పోలి ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో డిష్ యాంటెన్నా నేరుగా శాటిలైట్ల నుంచి ప్రసార సంకేతాలను అందుకుంటుంది. వాటిని సెట్-టాప్ బాక్స్ పిలిచే రిసీవర్‌కు ప్రసారం చేస్తుంది. వీడియో, ఆడియో, డేటా సిగ్నల్స్ నేరుగా సపోర్ట్ చేసే మొబైల్స్, స్మార్ట్ ఫోన్లకు చేరేందుకు సాయపడుతుంది.
ఐఐటీ (IIT) కాన్పూర్ 2022లో ప్రచురించిన ‘D2M బ్రాడ్‌కాస్ట్ 5జీ బ్రాడ్‌బ్యాండ్ కన్వర్జెన్స్ రోడ్‌మ్యాప్ ఫర్ ఇండియా’ అనే పేపర్‌లో ప్రస్తుతం అందుబాటులో ఉన్న మొబైల్ డివైజ్‌లు D2M టెక్నాలజీకి మద్దతు ఇవ్వవని గుర్తించారు. ఈ డివైజ్‌లకు అనుకూలంగా ఉండేలా చేసేందుకు యాంటెన్నా, లో-నాయిస్ యాంప్లిఫైయర్‌లు, బేస్‌బ్యాండ్ ఫిల్టర్‌లు, రిసీవర్‌తో పాటు ప్రత్యేక బేస్‌బ్యాండ్ ప్రాసెసింగ్ యూనిట్ అవసరం పడుతుంది.
స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్ల ధరలు పెరుగుతాయా? :
ప్రత్యేక బేస్‌బ్యాండ్ ప్రాసెసింగ్ యూనిట్‌ను చేర్చడం వల్ల స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్ ధరలు గణనీయంగా పెరిగే అవకాశం కనిపిస్తోంది. ఎల్‌టీఈ, 5జీ నెట్‌వర్క్‌లకు ప్రస్తుత నిర్మాణాన్ని సమర్థవంతంగా ప్రభావితం చేయగలదని భావిస్తున్నారు. డైరెక్ట్ టు మొబైల్ నెట్‌వర్క్ (526MHz-582MHz) బ్యాండ్‌లో పనిచేస్తుంది. ప్రస్తుత స్మార్ట్‌ఫోన్ డిజైన్‌లో ఇంటిగ్రేషన్ సవాళ్లను కలిగించే పెద్ద యాంటెన్నాలు అవసరమనే అభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తమవుతోంది. ప్రస్తుత ఫోన్లలో ఈ టెక్నాలజీ సపోర్టు చేయాలంటే.. దానికి తగినట్టుగా రీడిజైన్ చేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంటుందని భావిస్తున్నారు.
